As a result of his knowledge, Robert has been well sought after by many companies for his expertise in leadership as well as building, transforming, and transcending businesses. His experience includes, but is not limited to, business-to-business relations, corporate takeovers and restructurings, sales and marketing strategy, oversight of finances, as well as import/export and trading. Beginning his career as an entrepreneur, one of Robert’s esteemed business endeavors includes successfully co-founding and owning one of the largest mobile communications companies in Western Canada. In addition, throughout the past twenty years, Robert has formed an exceptional international portfolio in the development and management of Commercial Real Estate. Born and raised in British Columbia, Robert has always placed an importance on being involved in the community. He has been actively involved in a number of charitable organizations as well as headed several fundraising events for community sports, youth educational programs, and countless other organizations.
Livleen Veslemes has over 15 years of financial management experience in private and public companies across several different industries including biotechnology. Livleen served as Chief Financial Officer of a Vancouver based publicly traded medical diagnostic manufacturer with FDA cleared products that transitioned from the R&D phase into full commercialization through worldwide partnerships with 3M Healthcare, Roche Diagnostics and other international distributors. She also served as the Director of Finance at a subsidiary of Bell Canada and a leading North American provider of satellite communication solutions. She successfully led the financial integration of three North American acquisitions, managed the accounting and finance functions through a period of exponential revenue growth, and was responsible for consolidated financial statements for 2 US subsidiaries and 5 Canadian offices during her tenure there. Immediately prior to joining bioLytical Laboratories in October 2014, Livleen was an executive team member at Luvo Inc. reporting directly to the CEO, hired at startup to develop and lead accounting, finance, supply chain, legal, HR, administration and information systems. She facilitated the implementation of a strategic plan that resulted in the launch of 34 USDA approved products with 5,500 retailers in the US including Whole Foods, Safeway, Target and Costco. Livleen earned her designation as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) in 2001.
After graduation from the University of Windsor with a degree in Microbiology, Rick Galli began his extensive career in research and diagnostic laboratory sciences with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Public Health Laboratory in 1973. Since then he has worked in senior positions in public and hospital laboratory settings as well as the private sector. He was directly involved with leadership of laboratory diagnosis and monitoring of HIV infection from 1987 to 2005, and served on numerous HIV advisory boards and associations, most recently as President of the Canadian Association of HIV Clinical Laboratory Specialists. Before moving to Vancouver and joining the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS in 1999, Rick initiated the first and only provincial peer-reviewed HIV/AIDS grants and awards program of its kind for Ontario-based researchers, through the Ontario HIV Treatment Network in Toronto. From 1999 to 2005, Rick helped establish and managed the first accredited HIV molecular laboratory monitoring program in Canada at the BC Center for Excellence in HIV/AIDS. Since joining bioLytical Laboratories in February 2005, Rick has been instrumental in directing the regulatory compliance elements for bioLytical and INSTI that resulted in Health Canada approval, CE Marking for European Union member countries, WHO prequalification and US FDA approval and CLIA waiver. Mr. Galli is responsible for bioLytical Laboratories’ regulatory, scientific and clinical affairs.
Keith Miller has spent most of the last 25 years building and leading commercial teams for emerging bio-pharma companies. Before joining bioLytical, he consulted to clients in the bio-pharmaceutical industry delivering experienced insight into sales force size and deployment; customer management systems; GXP compliant sampling processes; Rx, dollar and unit forecasting; market analysis and trends; specialty segmentation and compensation plan development. As a founding member of the commercial division for Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, Keith was responsible for establishing a new institutional sales force and successfully launching a novel, first in class product in the GI sector. While at Sucampo, Keith led an award-winning team of account executives accountable for academic medical centers, community hospitals, military hospitals and long-term care facilities. He assumed expanding responsibilities as Senior Director of US Sales, Operations and Training where he led the restructuring of those areas to transition the company into a fully functional commercial entity. This encompassed a shift in strategic direction from account management to a specialty sales model and product launches in ophthalmology and OIC.
Keith was a charter member of a leadership team that created a new Women’s Health sales force for a partnership between Noven Pharmaceuticals, a transdermal drug delivery company, and Novartis Pharmaceuticals. His contributions included strategic planning, customer selection, training, territory alignment, performance management and bonus plan development as well as the leadership of top-performing regional business units. At Solvay Pharmaceuticals, he assumed increasing responsibilities during the expansion of the US pharmaceutical division rising from Professional Sales Representative to Sales Analyst to Manager, Customer Marketing. Keith is a graduate of the University of Kentucky.
Ryan Bennett brings to bioLytical Laboratories 22 years of progressive sales and marketing leadership. Ryan has a broad level of experience having worked with both Tier 1 multinational Consumer Packaged Goods companies, such as Nestle and Schering Plough Pharmaceuticals as well as new venture startups Luvo, Daiya Foods and Garden Protein International. Ryan graduated from Brock University with a BBA (Honours) degree and then spent the first 3 years of his career on the road as a sales representative for Timex Watches. After relocating to British Columbia, Ryan spent 5 years with Schering Plough Pharmaceuticals’ Consumer Products division. Holding positions in sales, retail operations and category management, Ryan developed the skills required to sell and manage market share leading brands, such as Coppertone, Dr. Scholl’s, and Claritin. Needing to learn the craft of managing people, Ryan took a positon as the Retail Development Team Manager for Nestle where he was responsible for coaching, training and motivating a team of 12 sales representatives. Ryan has also held senior level positions in many Vancouver based new venture startups in the Health Food sector including Gardein Protein International, which sold in November 2014 for $175M. He was sought out and hired by the founders of Daiya Foods to develop and execute the go to market strategy as the Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Today, Daiya Foods is one of the fastest growing plant based food companies in North America.
