Robert Mackie is bioLytical’s CEO and Chairman of the Board. He leads bioLytical’s executive team with more than 30 years of business experience.
With a strong entrepreneurial background, Robert achieved success in several ventures prior to joining bioLytical, including co-founding and owning one of the largest mobile communications companies in Western Canada.
Robert later moved into the field of real estate, earning his Real Estate Management and Broker’s License from the University of British Columbia. He has formed an exceptional international portfolio in the development and management of commercial real estate.
A philanthropist with a passion for his community, Robert supports many local organizations and charities, particularly focusing on sport and youth education. Robert guides bioLytical to reach its goals, including ending some of the world’s most concerning epidemics through fast, accessible, and convenient testing with its one-minute INSTI platform.
Hans Croukamp is bioLytical’s Chief Operating Officer and serves on its board of directors.
With 30 years of leadership experience, Hans brings bioLytical’s vision to life by maximizing organizational capabilities, operations, service offerings, and staff performance.
Before being named COO in 2018, Hans was bioLytical’s Senior Operations Director. In this role, Hans guided the implementation of numerous Lean initiatives to ensure product excellence, while paving the way for scaling, growth, and innovation within the highly regulated medical devices industry.
Hans has an unrivaled depth of experience in manufacturing, having moved to Canada from South Africa in 2001 to direct operations strategies in the construction, leisure, and interiors industries. In addition, Hans led manufacturing for one of the world’s leading commercial refrigeration companies and was the senior executive of global sales for an organization specialising in security, surveillance, and signage. In this position, Hans was responsible for global sales to 84% of the world’s casinos.
Among Hans’ professional qualifications is his LSSMB Lean Six Sigma Masters Black Belt certification from Lean Canada and an International business degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
Brent Fleming, CPHR is bioLytical’s Chief People Officer.
As an expert in spearheading innovative people and culture initiatives for high-growth companies, Brent brings more than 25 years’ experience to bioLytical’s executive team.
With a diverse professional background from the automotive to gaming and development sectors, Brent built his career on integrating lean business practices into transformational people programs including Blueprint for Quality, Talent Without Fear, and Circle of Service, all of which led to unprecedented market growth.
Before joining bioLytical, Brent created the entire people strategy as VP of HR and Organizational Development for a high-growth gaming company, where he was recognized by the province of Alberta and the City of Vancouver for his work in creating the legacy Bearing’s Program for diversity and inclusion.
With his winning combination of experience and a passion for bioLytical’s mission and values, Brent is now leading the way in creating innovative programs such as The Zone, a forward driven performance management system. A life-long learner, Brent is currently envisioning the groundwork for self-directed teams to ensure bioLytical’s talent remains at the forefront of innovation.
Josh has extensive experience in the biotech and pharma industry with more than 20 years across various industries, focusing on research, quality management, and product development. Known for his ability to lead and develop teams to successfully commercialize products, Josh is responsible for the science and technical portfolio at bioLytical, leading a dynamic group of scientists to spearhead the strategy and expansion of bioLytical’s INSTI product line in the global market.
Prior to joining bioLytical in 2021, Josh held various roles across the pharma, biotech, and cannabis sectors. With a diverse background in transforming and translating research to successfully commercialize products, Josh utilizes his vast academic, research, and business background to develop and implement launch strategies to successfully manage the product lifecycle. Also, a successful entrepreneur, Josh co-founded an analytics and on-site testing company responsible for providing solutions for cannabinoid identification, quantification, and profiling, where he continues to act in a scientific advisory role.
With an impressive academic background, Josh holds a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Victoria and has lectured at three universities. During his studies, he specialized in genetics and protein chemistry specialization.
Lawrence Wong, CPA, CGA is bioLytical’s Chief Financial Officer.
Lawrence is a highly skilled finance professional with more than 15 years’ experience across a variety of industries. Known for his track record of creating and implementing solutions to maximize efficiency and aligning financial metrics with corporate strategies, Lawrence is responsible for the leadership, strategy and direction of all bioLytical’s financial operations.
Prior to joining bioLytical in 2018 as the Director of Finance, Lawrence held a series of senior finance positions within the beverage alcohol industry.
Most recently, he was the Corporate Controller for one of Canada’s leading premium wine agencies. Reporting directly to the founder and President, he oversaw all aspects of accounting, finance, information technology, business intelligence, and supply chain. During his tenure, Lawrence was instrumental in ensuring strategic success across multiple facets of the business including sales and acquisitions of boutique agencies, debt restructuring and capital financing.
He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Simon Fraser University.
Ana has over 12 years of experience in quality and compliance in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical devices fields. In her current position, Ana guides bioLytical’s regulatory and quality process playing a key role in attaining regulatory approvals, registering and commercializing the INSTI product line, and maintaining the quality management system (QMS) to maintain MDSAP/ISO 13485 requirements.
Before rejoining bioLytical in 2021, Ana spent ten years working in research, audit, and consultancy roles establishing, implementing, and ramping up phase-appropriate quality systems from the ground up in pre-clinical, clinical, and commercial medical device environments. She also has a proven track record in developing and implementing a strong and impactful quality vision and culture across multiple organizations. Before joining bioLytical, Ana worked for BSI (Notified Body) as a Lead Auditor, where she assessed various medical device manufacturers for their quality systems compliance.
With an impressive academic background, Ana has a Ph.D. in Chemistry and post-doctoral experience from the University of Miami and has published international research articles. In addition, Ana holds a Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) and has a vast knowledge of industry-leading audit practices. Along with her extensive experience, Ana’s academic background allows her to commercialize ground-breaking technology for safe use.
David has over twenty years of experience in sales and marketing across various industries. In his current position, David is responsible for overseeing the entire commercial strategy, including sales planning and targeting, marketing and communications, and account management. David plays an instrumental role in the commercialization of the INSTI product line and is responsible for overseeing domestic and international sales for bioLytical.
Before joining bioLytical in 2021, David spent five years in the pharmaceutical industry, responsible for key account and sales management, generating revenue, and increasing market share. David successfully developed and implemented a sales intelligence and selling model, exceeding sales revenue targets. In each position David has held, he has contributed to impressive sales growth, impressive team development, and increased value-added network relationships.
In addition to David’s stellar work experience and qualifications, he holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario, has his LSSMB Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification from Lean Canada, his Certified Sales Professional designation (CSP), and has earned numerous professional certifications and awards.
Adam Tynan brings over 15 years of experience in both the design and manufacturing of medical devices. He has experience with class I, II and III devices and has repeatedly proven himself able to handle every element of a development project from initiation to market release. He holds a Diploma in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.Sc. in Medical Device Innovation.
